Spanish 5/6
This Prezi is about Art in Costa Rica and it was my very first presentation in Spanish. The grammar may not be stellar, but it definitely forced me to be creative with my wording and vocabulary.

Spanish is definitely one of the most challenging subjects in school because Mrs. Dominguez has a very independent way of teaching. For the longest time I thought her teaching method was non existent, and to a certain extent I still feel that it is.
I cant say that I know a ton of Spanish for a third year, but I do know so much more Spanish than I did coming into the class. I clearly remember the first day not knowing the word for "movie" and I couldn't make up any comprehensible sentences, and now I can whip out paragraphs and presentations. I do think that I should work more on my listening and speaking skills but I do recognize that my strengths lie in my vocabulary and writing skills and I do use them whenever possible. I learned that I am surprisingly good at giving advice in Spanish because we had a verbal test and I was the only person to get 40/40 on the quiz. Probably the best ego boost ever. To prove myself of my Español skills I still remember how to start the phrase "Te aconsejo que..." or "Yo recomiendo que", and I also learned that I'm really good at using the subjunctive form for verbs to express opinion. I definitely try to use Spanish when I can and one of my most prominent accomplishments is being able to order tacos in real life, and to me that is a true academic feat. |
